Frequently Anticipated Questions

How do I read the book?

To view the PDF (and read the book) you can use any PDF viewer (like Preview) but to enjoy the interactive features like mouseover illustrations, movies and HTML links, you'll need the latest version of the free Adobe Reader.

Can I see a sample chapter?

Sure. Here's a 14-page sample from the cover to the Preface, including the Table of Contents.

Cool! Can I pay with a check?

We strongly suggest you just use a credit card for instant, automated delivery of the PDF. But if you insist on paying by check, email your request to the link below and we'll tell you where to mail the check. After your check clears, we'll send you an email with a download link to the PDF. Allow two weeks for processing.

How much does it cost?

$24.95. Unless you become a Photo Corners subscriber. In which case, it's free.

When will it be published?

It is available now.

What's your refund policy?

We want you to be delighted with your purchase, of course. And we've provided a 14-page sample including the table of contents to show you the quality of the product and its scope.

However, an ebook is not a tangible product that you can return, consequently all sales are final. We do not give ebook refunds. Barnes & Noble doesn't either. Nor does PayPal for digital downloads. It's just the nature of the product.

If you have a problem with the download, just try it again (the link doesn't expire right away). If you're having any other problem with our ebook, let us know using the link at the bottom of this FAQ and we'll do what we can to mitigate the issue.

Why are there blank pages?

For print production. The ebook has been composed for print publication, too. The back side of some pages are therefore blank and the end of chapters may require a blank page to start the new chapter on the right-hand page.

Wny don't the links work?

Bookmarks (the Table of Contents) are broken beyond our ability to repair (it's apparently an unresolved Adobe InDesign issue). The others should all work, assuming you're using the latest Adobe Reader. If not, sites have been reorganized or companies vaporized.

Can I print the ebook?

Maybe, but print is not supported. Sorry.

We printed a reading copy to proofread it. We printed it duplex with a sheet size of lettersize on the printer in landscape mode so the 8.5x5.5-inch pages would print two-up.

Your printer and your PDF software may not support those features. And we've done enough printer reviews that we know we can't support all the possible drivers out there. So you're on your own, if you want a printed copy -- but it is feasible (if tricky).

How long does it take to read?

It took us 13 years to read it. You can get through it much quicker.

How long is the download link valid?

When you purchase the book, we immediately provide a download link. We also email that link to you. Use it promptly because the link expires after 24 hours.

Does it works on an iPad?

Yes.
