DxO Labs has released Optics Pro v8.1.3 [MW] with support for new cameras and an additional 260 Optics modules that correct various lens/camera combinations.
The Elite edition of Optics Pro now supports the Leica M-E/M9/M9-P, which use telemetric viewfinders. Both the Elite and Standard editions include support for the Nikon 5200, Panasonic FZ200 and Canon SX50 HS.
The additional Optics modules add support for more Canon, Leica, Panasonic, Sigma, Sony, Tamron, Tokina and Zeiss lenses for numerous Canon, Leica, Nikon, Panasonic and Sony cameras.
We've raved about Optics Pro in previous reviews and our peek at v8 impressed us with its recovery of shadow detail. It's optical corrections for various lens/camera combinations are particularly impressive (and easy).
The update is free to Optics Pro 8 purchasers and a trial version of this unique image editing software is also available.
DxO Optics Pro v8.1.3 Supports Six New Cameras
Update includes 260 new DxO Optics modules
PARIS, France -- DxO Labs announces the immediate availability DxO Optics Pro v8.1.3 for Mac and Windows, the latest version of its image processing software of reference for all serious photographers. This upgrade allows the Elite edition of DxO Optics Pro 8 to support three Leica cameras with telemetric viewfinders: the M-E, the M9 and the M9-P. Three other cameras complete the list of equipment supported by both the Standard and Elite editions of this new version: the Nikon D5200, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200 and the Canon PowerShot SX50 HS.
Developed in the laboratory using an exclusive calibration process, DxO Optics Modules contain tens of thousands of data points about the intrinsic characteristics and flaws of each camera and lens. This database, unique in all the world, allows DxO Optics Pro to automatically correct all the optical flaws in Raw and JPEG images -- distortion, vignetting, chromatic aberrations, lens softness -- with an unrivaled level of quality.
With already more than 10,000 lens/camera combinations in its library today, DxO Optics Pro v8.1.3 now adds 260 new combinations supporting additional Canon, Leica, Panasonic, Sigma, Sony, Tamron, Tokina and Zeiss lenses for numerous Canon, Leica, Nikon, Panasonic and Sony cameras.
