Landy To Judge PhoozL 'Spirit of the Sixties' Contest Tweet This   Forward This

PhoozL has announced a new music-themed contest challenging contestants to illustrate a 1960s classic rock tune title with a photo. And just to amp it up a little, Show the Song: Spirit of the '60s will be judged by Elliott Landy, official photographer of the 1969 Woodstock Festival.

Prizes include an autographed copy of Landy's Woodstock Vision: The Spirit of a Generation, a B&H gift card, a subscription to Aperture magazine and more, not to mention plenty of extra PhoozL points.

Unlike past PhoozL contests, there is a modest $5 entry fee which includes submission of up to five images.

PRIZES

First place prize includes:

  • A copy of Elliott Landy's book Woodstock Vision: The Spirit of a Generation, personally autographed and dedicated to the winner by Elliott Landy
  • A $75 (or more!) B&H Photo gift card
  • A custom award icon for posting on sites, blogs, etc.
  • Inclusion in Winners Showcase and 75 extra PhoozL points

Second place prize includes:

  • A one-year gift subscription (four issues) to the revamped Aperture magazine

LANDY

Landy, who still lives in Woodstock, is best known for his iconic photographs of rock musicians and as official photographer of Woodstock.

His photographs have appeared on the covers of Rolling Stone, LIFE and The Saturday Evening Post. Landy's portraits have also graced the covers of many of the best-known albums of the era, including classics like Bob Dylan's Nashville Skyline, Van Morrison's Moondance and The Band's second album, The Band.

PhoozL Announces Music-Themed Photo Contest Show the Song: Spirit of the '60s

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- Photography education and entertainment site PhoozL has announced its latest "super-judged" (and first paid-entry) photo contest: "Show the Song: Spirit of the '60s." The assignment is to interpret 1960s Classic Rock song titles with your photography. And the judge is Elliott Landy, official photographer of the 1969 Woodstock Festival! How groovy is that?

This is PhoozL's first paid-entry contest ($5) and entrants can upload up to five submissions for that one fee. The contest is open for submissions now until March 24 to all logged-in members of PhoozL.com, amateur to pro, 18+, worldwide. There are prizes for Top Three and Honorable Mentions.
