In this recurring column, we'll highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at Joe McNally, Apple, Boinx and NPR.
- Photographer Joe McNally has posted Small Lights into a Big Source, a report on using multiple small strobes positioned strategically inside a big Lastolite umbrella.
- Apple has released its 6.0.2-MB Digital Camera Raw Compatibility Update 4.05 with support for the Fujifilm X20/X100S/X-E1/X-Pro1 in Aperture 3 and iPhoto '11.
- Boinx has released its $99.99 FotoMagico 4.2.2 [M] with an alert for movies too short for a long slide, an updated file format to accommodate external media files in the OS X sandbox environment, a fix for a "big memory leak when changing the selection in the Storyboard" and more.
- NPR's Morning Edition features In 'Which Way,' A War Photographer In His Element, Sebastian Junger's documentary about the life of British photojournalist Tim Hetherington, who was killed in Misrata during Libya's civil war. HBO has posted a slide show of 30 images from the documentary.
