Nikon Introduces Digiscoping Attachment FSA-L3 and DSA-N2, exclusively for Monarch Fieldscopes

Nikon Vision Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Nikon Corp., is pleased to announce the release of Digiscoping Attachment FSA-L3 for Nikon dSLR cameras and Digiscoping Attachment DSA-N2 for Advanced Camera with Interchangeable Lenses Nikon 1 series. Both are exclusively for Monarch Fieldscope Objective Lens Units and achieve prime focus shooting.

In prime focus shooting, light from the lens directly enters the image sensor; the image is not routed through a prism or eyepiece. This maximises lens resolving power, thus realising super-telephoto shooting with extremely high definition. Even the finest subject detail is shown with striking clarity. Users photographing a wild bird, for example, will marvel at the superb sharpness of every feather.

Digiscoping Attachment FSA-L3 Key Features

  • Digiscoping attachment connects with the F-mount of a Nikon dSLR camera, realising prime focus shooting
  • Enables super-telephoto shooting at either 500mm focal length with a Monarch Fieldscope Objective Lens Unit 82 or 400mm with a Monarch Fieldscope Objective Lens Unit 60 (when used with a Nikon DX-format dSLR camera, the picture angle is equivalent to approx. 1.5x focal length of 35mm format)
  • Optical compatibility with Nikon FX format realises full-size sensor shooting without vignetting
  • Optical design achieves aberration compensation effectively, while all lens surfaces are applied with multilayer coating
  • Using the Electronic Rangefinder, highly accurate focusing is attained even when focusing manually (when attached to a Nikon dSLR camera that employs an f8-compatible AF sensor)
  • Available exposure modes: A (Aperture-priority) auto and M (Manual)
  • Available exposure metering: Centre-weighted metering

Digiscoping Attachment DSA-N2 Key Features

  • Digiscoping attachment enables use of an Advanced Camera with Interchangeable Lenses Nikon 1 series, realising prime focus shooting
  • Enables super-telephoto shooting at either 1,350mm focal length (CX format) with a Monarch Fieldscope Objective Lens Unit 82 or 1,080mm (CX format) with a Monarch Fieldscope Objective Lens Unit 60
  • Attaching a lightweight Nikon 1 body, high-definition, super-telephoto shooting is easily performed
  • Optical design achieves aberration compensation effectively, while all lens surfaces are applied with multilayer coating
  • Available exposure modes: A (Aperture-priority auto) and M (Manual)
  • Available exposure metering: Centre-weighted metering
