Pixelmater Adds 16-Bit Color With Mac Pro Support

The Pixelmater team has updated its $29.99 Pixelmater image editor to version 3.1 Marble, adding 16-bit color channel processing using both of the Mac Pro GPUs simultaneously. The company said other Mac models will get 16-bit channel support in the future.
"Harnessing the power of the Mac Pro's dual-GPU architecture," Pixelmater's Saulius Dailide said, "we're now able to support 16-bit per channel images for the first time and push the limits of Pixelmator performance like never before."
The new version also adds an Order Prints feature to order various printed collateral like postcards, notecards, gallery frames or posters directly from the application. Other improvements include enhancements to Layer Styles, Type Tool, selections and more.
