Chicago-based Calumet Photographic, has filed for Chapter 7 liquidation and closed its U.S. stores, according to a report in the Chicago Tribune. With its Web site inactive, the announcement was made on the company's Facebook page.

Founded in 1939, the company listed its current assets between $50 million and $100 million with liabilities between $10 million and $50 million.
