The Google Drive team has announced lower prices for its three monthly storage plans in a blog post by Scott Johnston, director of product management, today. In addition to providing 15-GB storage free, you can opt for 100-GB storage for $1.99 a month, 1-TB storage for $9.99 and 10-TB storage for $99.99 a month.

"Today, thanks to a number of recent infrastructure improvements," the posting explains, "we're able to make it more affordable for you to keep everything safe and easy to reach on any device, from anywhere."

If you already have a paid account, it will be automatically updated to the new rate, the posting notes. To sign up for more storage, visit the Google Drive storage page.

Drive Storage is used by Google Drive for files up to 10-GB each, Gmail email and attachements you send or receive, and Google+ Photos for images over 2048x2048 pixels (smaller images are free).
