In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at a Judy Dater story, Reichmann's astrophotography adventure, the Kenu Stance and the NetGear Trek N300.

  • In Mike Johnston's Open Mike: We Hear from Judy Dater (NSFW), Judy Dater tells the story behind her Imogen and Twinka at Yosemite (Twinka is unclothed, hence the "NSFW," which reminds us of a Lenny Bruce line about complaining to the manufacturer is nudity bothers you).
  • In My Astrophotography Adventure, Michael Reichmann explains what he's doing with a "645 medium format camera, at least one 67 telephoto lens and the specialized Vixen mount with Starbook 10."
  • Derrick Story calls the Kenu Stance Possibly Most Clever iPhone Tripod Yet. It connects to the Lightning port, for one thing, and includes a bottle opener for another. The ball head doesn't hurt either.
  • Terry White details My New Favorite Travel WiFi Router. Unlike his Apple Express (which we have used on our travails), the NetGear Trek N300 connects to and lets you share an existing WiFi network.

More to come...
