In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at protecting your gear, street shooting at Oracle Arena, 12 Photos-related Automator actions and a Harold Davis double.

  • In Protecting Yourself & Your Gear, C.S. Muncy compiles "a brief list of the top products and accessories that help me get through the average workday." Of course, his "average" workday often includes shooting under helicopters with debris flying all around.
  • Derrick Story does a little Street Shooting Inside Oracle Arena i black and white with an Olympus OM-D E-M10 and a 20mm f1.7 lens before the first Pelicans-Warriors playoff game.
  • Mac OS X Automation has released 12 Photos-related Automator actions. Photos' AppleScript support is very basic (if revealing) but Apple supplied no Automator actions with v1.0. So this is a welcome collection.
  • Harold Davis makes it to Cavallo Point Inn for dinner, shoots Flowers at a Restaurant and writes a review of the place, too.

More to come...
