In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at a call for copyright comments, a famous fire photo, packing light and the Sony FE 90mm.
- The Copyright Office is seeking "written comments on how certain visual works, particularly photographs, graphic artworks and illustrations, are monetized, enforced and registered under the Copyright Act." Thom Hogan and The Copyright Zone, among others, are encouraging participation.
- In Fire, Football and the Story of a Renowned Photograph, Sarah Lyall tells the story of the Nov. 20, 1965 photo of the Mount Hermon football game against Deerfield played in front of a burning building.
- In What to Pack for a Photo Trip to Cuba: Nine Essentials, Derrick Story explains that he "needed to have enough gear to capture the required stills and video, but not so much that I would grow weary hauling it through long days that always stretched into night." And he names names, too.
- Roger Cicala performed a Sony FE 90mm f2.8-GB OSS Resolution Test in his Imatest lab and reports the "preliminary results look very good."
