In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at Andrew Lichtenstein, the Olympus OM-D EM-5 Mark II, a free guide to Lightroom's new Photo Merge tools and moonbows.

  • In When Every Day Is Memorial Day, David Gonzalez profiles the work of Andrew Lichtenstein who, from 2003 until 2006, photographed about 60 military funerals around the country. "I learned something from the families: The true cost of grief is beyond politics," Lichetenstein says.
  • You could spend the entire three-day weekend reading Kirk Tuck's Olympus OM-D EM-5 Mark II review. Highlights include the "EVF, the High Res mode, the amazing image stabilization, the composite long exposure feature, and even the Keystone Correction feature." And he's just getting started.
  • Rocky Nook has published Derrick Story's guide to HDR & Panoramas with Photo Merge in Lightroom CC as a free 16-page PDF download. Email address required but you get a 35 percent discount code.
  • The PBS NewsHour reported on photographer Gary Hart's Yosemite expeditions to capture moonbows, rainbows made with the light of the moon. Jeff Stamer has previously published Photo Tips for Yosemite Moonbows: A Photographic How-To Guide, although the link to the Texas State University's schedule of Yosemite moonbows is no longer live.
