In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at the 2015 Audubon Photography Awards, non-camera/editing iPhone apps for photographers, Creative Cloud 2015 update troubleshooting and the new Dehaze control.
- The Atlantic's Photo page presents 17 winners of the 2015 Audubon Photography Awards. The contest drew almost 9,000 entries. You can see the top 100 images at the Audubon site.
- Rob DePaolo presents a nice little round-up of iPhone apps for photographers that are not camera or editing apps. That would be "apps to help you plan your photo shoot, transfer, organize and back up your images, as well as print, sell and share your iPhone photos."
- We're still working through the Creative Cloud 2015 updates but a couple of Photoshop issues have cropped up. 1) Older versions are, by default, deleted this time around (although a folder with older Plug-ins and Presets may remain; just copy them to your new installation). 2) That old Generator error bit us (see the link for the solution). See Jeff Tranberry's 2015 release of Photoshop CC: FAQ for more information.
- In Dehaze in Camera Raw 9.1 for Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC, Julieanne Kost covers the new Dehaze control.
