Herrick Online Benefit Auction To Offer 'Amazing' Photos Share This on LinkedIn   Share This on Google   Tweet This   Forward This

16 July 2015

The nonprofit Josephine Herrick Project will host a live and online auction of original photographs from "some of the world's most notable and legendary photographers" on Oct. 19 at Affirmation Arts in New York City, the same week as PhotoPlus Expo, Oct. 22-24.

This year's auction, which will offer online bidding in cooperation with a New York-based auction house Paddle8, includes works from Douglas Kirkland, Amy Arbus and Man Ray, among others.

"Expect the unexpected at this event" says Matt Sweetwood, JHP vice president and president of Unique Photo in Fairfield, N.J. "This will not be your typical auction. There will be opportunities to network with the industry's leading editors, photographers and JHP program participants. Everyone who loves photography will have a chance to bid on an amazing array of photographs ranging from a few hundred dollars to some worth thousands -- and all proceeds raised help those in need."

Proceeds from the event will help support and sustain the foundation's extensive community, veterans and youth programs which center on photography as a powerful learning and communications tool.

"Since 1941, The Josephine Herrick Program has brought the magic of photography to more than 100,000 disadvantaged Americans and the core of its success lies with the unwavered support of the photographic community," said Jackie Augustine, board president of JHP and Jackie Augustine Consulting. "This annual event is a great representation of how artists, manufacturers and executives from the photo community work together for a common cause."
