In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at Stieglitz's Camera Work, MTF and Variation explained, the Neewer L-Plate Bracket Grip and Zach Gross.

  • In Of Camera Work and Fine Art, Rene Silverman tells the story of Alfred Stieglitz's photography publication that bound gorgeous photogravures in acidic covers. It's hard to find a complete set of Camera Work today because so many of the photogravures were cut out of the publication to be framed.
  • In MTF and Variation: An Example, Roger Cicala shows what Lensrentals does with all that MTF information, recentering a Zeiss 21mm lens.
  • Derrick Story shows off his $28 Neewer L-Plate Bracket Grip for Olympus E-M10 Review with its unique mounting screw and module components.
  • Heidi Volpe interviews Zach Gross about his creative portraits of The Walking Dead creators David Alpert and Robert Kirkman for Fast Company. "The shoot was a bit of a dance trying to find the convergence of all the elements: strobe light, natural light, smoke, and expression."

More to come...
