Photographer Vincent Laforet will be one of 23 experts, innovators and artists appearing at TEDx San Francisco on Oct. 29 at Pier 70. Images from Laforet's AIR series, which began as an assignment for a magazine article about psychology, have been seen by 50 million people and the book will be available at the conference.
"I've climbed to the top of the Empire State Building. I've directed a commercial for Nike with Kobe Bryant. I've flown for hundreds of hours in helicopters around the world photographing and filming the most beautiful places and landscapes," said Laforest, who is well known for his aerial photography of New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
At TEDx San Francisco, Laforet will exhibit his photography and discuss the profound change his photography has made on his world perspective. "The world is much smaller than we think," Laforet notes on his Web site. "Borders are irrelevant and distances shortened. Clearly, we are more intimately connected to one another than we may realize."
Complementing the line-up of speakers and performances will be a day-long farmer's market and a pop-up bookstore.
A few tickets remain for the all-day conference at $100. For more information visit TEDx San Francisco and see the news release below.
