Adobe has shipped its latest Creative Cloud desktop updates and announced new developments across its portfolio of creative tools and technologies. Those include:

  • Flash Professional CC has been renamed as Adobe Animate CC "to more accurately reflect the content-formats produced by this tool," the company said.
  • Adobe has announced Edge Reflow (preview), Edge Inspect and Edge Animate are no longer being actively developed, instead integrating these "lightweight apps" into its "industry-leading creative tools" like Dreamweaver and Muse.
  • The company announced it is working on a new HTML5 video player for desktop browsers.

Highlights of the update to Photoshop CC include:

  • A new Design Space (Preview) "based on deep customer research and built for designers by designers to make many tasks faster and with less clicks."
  • You can now better customize Artboards.
  • You can finally customize your Photoshop CC toolbar.
  • A new modern (touch-enabled) user interface that delivers "a clean and consistent look" and improvements in Creative Cloud Libraries.

In the following video clip, Julieanne Kost explains how to customize the toolbar in the new Photoshop CC:

The update also finally addresses the Export issue introduced in the last update, which removed copyright metadata. Kost walks you through those improvements:
