In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at the Apple Lightning-to-USB Camera Adapter, a new edition of Photographers Quarterly, Emilio Chuliá Soler and a pretty photo of a meeting.

  • One benefit of yesterday's interminable updates from Apple (iPhone, iPad, OS X) is the expansion of Apple's $29 Lightning-to-USB Camera Adapter to iPhone's with a Lightning connector. You can copy JPEG and Raw images plus SD and HD video at USB 2.0 speeds (USB 3.0 speeds on an iPad Pro), opening iPhotos on the phone to manage the transfer.
  • Photographers Quarterly has published its third issue with work by Courtney Crawford, Katty Hoover, Hye-Ryoung Min, Jessica Martinez, Yvette Marie Dostatni and Svetlana Bailey.
  • Kate Wesson finds out How Emilio Chuliá Soler Takes Great iPhone Photos. "All my pictures have their own particular sound track," he confides.
  • Kirk Tuck asks, "Have you ever been sitting in a meeting and realized that the light just then was beautiful?" You have, you have. That's why you're a photographer.

More to come! Meanwhile, please support our efforts...
