In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at 135mm primes, the Indigo Marble Wrap, photography tips and Rocky Nook discounts.

  • Hmmm, the 135mm prime lens has become a topic of conversation. Kirk Tuck affectionately calls his 135mm one of the lost boys of the lens world. And in the other corner, Mike Johnston claims no one actually uses their 135mm lens. Johnston also named the Sony A7R II as TOP Camera of the Year 2105. Not that anyone actually uses one.
  • Derrick Story would have you replace that T-shirt you wrap your camera in with an Indigo Marble Wrap to protect your gear in any nondescript bag (which is itself a deterrent to theft).
  • BorrowLenses has a number of Photography Tips for 2016 that should work in subsequent years as well. Time will tell.
  • Rocky Nook is offering 50 percent off every print book with the coupon GOTPRINT and 35 percent off every print/ebook bundle with the coupon BUNDLES.

More to come! Meanwhile, please support our efforts...
