With version 9.5.47 of VueScan, Hamrick Software has added support for Canon imageFORMULA document scanners. VueScan now supports over 2,900 scanners from 35 manufacturers running on Linux, Mac OS X and Windows.

"As we have seen an increase in document scanning, we have had many requests from customers for us to add support for this range of scanners, so this is great news for them," said Hamrick Software President Ed Hamrick.

"We have added support for many imageFORMULA scanners that Canon doesn't support, including 57 imageFORMULA scanners on Linux, 44 imageFORMULA scanners on Mac OS X and 24 imageFORMULA scanners on Windows 7, 8 and 10. We are pleased to support all types of Canon scanners, including flatbed scanners, multifunction scanners, document scanners and film scanners, but these new scanners are fast, easy to use and produce high quality document scans. We are delighted to be able to support Canon as they introduce new products."

We recently used VueScan's optical character recognition to recover several pages of a typeset document that had no digital equivalent. The accuracy on very tightly set copy was superb, saving us hours of typing and proofreading.

Hamrick also recently added support in VueScan for the OpticFilm 135, becoming the only third-party scanning option available for that device.

VueScan is available in two editions, a Standard Edition ($49.95) and a Professional Edition ($79.95) which supports film scanning, adds unlimited free upgrades, advanced IT8 color calibration and support for Raw scan files.

A fully functional, trial copy of VueScan can be downloaded from Hamrick Software.

Ed Hamrick, the President of Hamrick Software, says "Canon has always been a key manufacturer to us and with document scanning becoming more and more popular, it is essential to us that we support as many scanners and printers as possible."

VueScan now supports over 2900 scanners from 35 manufacturers in a combination of three operating systems, Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.

"As we have seen an increase in document scanning, we have had many requests from customers for us to add support for this range of scanners, so this is great news for them." says Ed Hamrick.
