In an email to users, Storehouse CEO Mark Kawano announced the service will shut down July 15. "While I am proud of what we accomplished," Kawano wrote, "we were unable to achieve the type of growth necessary to justify the continued operation of the service."

Storehouse, which we reviewed in January 2014 shortly after launch, billed itself as "the easiest way to create, share, and discover beautiful stories." The free iOS app made it easy to mix text, photos and video in a presentation hosted by the service.

The text of Kawano's email message follows:

Storehouse is Shutting Down

Storehouse will be shutting down on July 15, 2016.

While I am proud of what we accomplished, we were unable to achieve the type of growth necessary to justify the continued operation of the service.

Starting today, you will be able to download an archived version of the stories you’ve published to Storehouse. This archive includes all the photos, videos, and text from your stories. If you would like to request an archive, go here.

Thank you to everybody in our community for the support. Your stories have inspired us, and while we are sad to be closing down, I hope that we have inspired you as well.
