In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at two retiring photojournalists, a postcard promo, Denevi Camera and a BorrowLenses deal.

  • The New York Times is losing a couple of veteran photojournalists. James Estrin celebrates the work of Nicole Bengiveno and David Gonzalez honors the work of Monica Almeida. Both stories include links to past work by the photographers.
  • Heidi Volpe interviews Emiliano Granado about his postcard promo for a 20-page zine of his images on the spectacle surrounding the Tour de France.
  • Scott Herhold reports A remnant of Denevi Camera closes its doors. "In the 1100 block of Sunnyvale's Kern Avenue," he writes, "a sign outside the door of the Denevi Digital Imaging Division says that 'due to unforeseen circumstances' the business is closing." An an era ending, too.
  • BorrowLenses is celebrating Nikon's 99th Anniversary with a 15 percent off flash sale on Nikon gear rentals today only when you use deal code NIKONONLY15.

More to come! Meanwhile, please support our efforts...
