In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at the Olympus E-M1 Mark II, Berenice Abbott's portraits, creativity metrics and an Anthony Hernandez interview.

  • Ming Thein reviews The Olympus E-M1 Mark II but note that the images are JPEGs with no Camera Raw support for the Raw files yet. We had a chance to shoot with it ourselves recently and will publish our notes shortly.
  • Jörg M. Colberg reviews Steidl's Berenice Abbott -- Paris Portraits 1925-1930, calling it "one of the finest photobooks I have come across this year."
  • Adobe's State of Create: 2016 explores the impact of creativity around the globe, surveying over 5,000 adults in U.S., U.K., France, Germany and Japan. Short version: creativity's a good thing, Martha. By a 70 to 30 percent margin, undecideds not disclosed.
  • SFMOMA will host Anthony Hernandez in Conversation with Jeff Wall tomorrow night at 7 p.m. Wall co-organized the Vancouver Art Gallery's 2009 exhibition of Hernandez's work, which is showing at SFMOMA.

We've also updated our Calendar today and there's always more to come! Meanwhile, please support our efforts...
