You can tell from the shadows on the clouds that we're looking east. Those are the Oakland hills on the other side of the bay with Oakland itself at their feet. The eastern half of San Francisco lies in the foreground.

But it's the clouds that are the story. They trail last night's storm, which cleared the air for some spectacular landscapes this morning.

Half the job, though, is in post processing. And for this image we used Adobe Camera Raw to bring out the finer points of the scene. That included a touch of the Dehaze filter to darken the hills.

It wasn't until we were done when it occurred to us to wonder exactly how many frozen turkeys we'd been looking at when we lined up this shot.
