In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at World Press Photo contest winners, photography subreddits, Venice from space and Cupid.

  • Alan Taylor presents 35 Winners of the 2017 World Press Photo Contest. Categories include Contemporary Issues, Daily Life, General News, Long-Term Projects, Nature, People, Sports and Spot News.
  • Your Favorite Photography Related Subreddits? lists 41 discussion groups on the popular forum site. And there are more in the comments.
  • Thomas Pesquet of the European Space Agency shared this Nikon D4 photo from the International Space Station today, writing, "Venice, city of gondoliers and the lovers they carry along the canals. Happy Valentine's Day!"

More to come! Meanwhile, please support our efforts...
