In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at Sarah Lewis, Jean-Christian Rostagni, Mickalene Thomas and Fujifilm camera rebates.
- In Understanding Race and History Through Photography, James Estrin interviews Harvard professor Sarah Lewis. You have to understand the history of images "as tools or even weapons of both limitations and liberation," she said.
- In One Image, One Story: Salut L'Artiste, Jean-Christian Rostagni got the image he wanted on the last of the six frames left in his camera.
- Another in its Larry Sultan Visiting Artist Program, Pier 24 Photography will host a free lecture by Mickalene Thomas on Thursday at 7 pm in Timken Lecture Hall at the California College of the Arts in San Francisco.
- Through July 1, Adorama is offering four percent back in its rewards program in combination with Fujifilm camera rebates of up to $500 on the X-T1, X100T and X-T10.
More to come! Meanwhile, please support our efforts...
