DNP has released a software update for its SnapLab SL620A and DS-Tmini. The version 3.1 software provides both new features and updates to several features of DNP's SL620A dye-sublimation printer.

Highlights of the new release include:

  • A new Event Photo operation mode for the SL620A that streamlines the photo printing process to quickly print selected images and add a custom border to each image.
  • The Photo Collage Feature allows selection of two to eight images to be automatically combined onto one page. Images may shuffled and text and clip art may be added to the collage.
  • A new Hot Folder prints images as they are dropped into an actively monitored folder.

"Providing the broadest array of quality print options is critical to customer satisfaction and creating repeat business," said Katsuyuki Oshima, DNP president. "With this software update, retailers and photo booth providers can now offer their customers more choices and take advantage of new revenue generating opportunities for their business without additional investment."

The new software is now available for download from the DNP Web site.

DNP Releases Software Update for SnapLab SL620A and DS-Tmini

Version 3.1 includes event photo mode, photo collage functions and partial matte printing.

CONCORD, N.C. -- DNP Imagingcomm America Corp. has announced the immediate availability of a comprehensive software update for the SnapLab SL620A and DS-Tmini. The new version 3.1 software provides both new features and updates to several features of DNP's award-winning SL620A dye-sublimation printer.

The SL620A now features an Event Photo operation mode that streamlines the photo printing process to quickly print selected images compared to the regular kiosk mode of operation. The Event Photo mode can also be setup to add a custom border frame to every image at the event.

The photo collage feature is enhanced. Users will now be able to select two to eight images and automatically combine onto one page for printout with the new photo collage function. The images can be automatically shuffled at the touch of a button. The user may further customize the collage photo by adding lines of text or adding clipart to the collage. The user may also choose to add a colorful background theme from those available or select one of their images for the background or simply use the standard background. The photo calendar feature has similar image choice functionality improvements to that of the photo collage.

The newly added hot folder printing function also allows the operator to instant print images as they are dropped into an actively monitored 'hot' folder. Once in the hot folder, the images are auto sized and the printing process begins immediately. The operator can add a customized border / frame to the selected print size channel and it will be automatically added to each photo.

"Providing the broadest array of quality print options is critical to customer satisfaction and creating repeat business," said Katsuyuki Oshima, President of DNP IAM. "With this software update, retailers and photo booth providers can now offer their customers more choices and take advantage of new revenue generating opportunities for their business without additional investment."

Partial matte printing is also a new feature in DNP's new software update. It allows users to embed a graphic image, such as a brand name or logo, in the lamination clear coat of the printed image.

The software update also adds new printer output color adjustment, providing users with a setup of color profile and color adjustments for each printer channel and for each printer finish. Settings supported include: brightness, contrast, saturation, red, blue, green, gamma and sharpen.

The SnapLab SL620A software update version 3.1 is available for current users to download now from the DNP Web site: http://dnpphoto.com/en-us/Support/Downloads/Drivers-Tools
