In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at wildfires along the Riviera, Stephen Matera, pseudo batch processing for Apple Photos, Instagram hashtags and Flash.

  • In Wildfires Force Evacuations Along the French Riviera, Alan Taylor presents 21 images of the wildfires raging along the Mediterranean coast.
  • Cotton Carrier has just published an interview with outdoor adventure, sports, and lifestyle photographer Stephen Matera.
  • In Batch Processing in Apple Photos, Kirk McElhearn suggests "a way that you can quickly apply the same changes to multiple photos" even though Photos does not do batch processing. The short version: copy and paste adjustments.
  • The Photographer's Guide to Instagram Hashtags is a free download with registration required that signs you up for Feature Shoot's newsletter.
  • In Flash & the Future of Interactive Content, Adobe announced it is "planning to end-of-life Flash. Specifically, we will stop updating and distributing the Flash Player at the end of 2020 and encourage content creators to migrate any existing Flash content to these new open formats." If your online portfolio uses Flash, you just got a new project.

More to come! Meanwhile, please support our efforts...
