19 September 2017

Peak Design has announced it will hold SUMM1T 2017, a party with an art exhibit that's also a 1% For The Planet fundraiser on Thursday, Sept. 21, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at SOMArts Cultural Center.

According to the organizers, "SUMM1T's goal is to bring together the creative, business and environmentalist communities of San Francisco so we may continue to do good stuff together."

Highlighting the festivities will be the launch of Give A Shot, Peak Design's new Web platform to connect creatives with environmental nonprofits in need of visual content. Proceeds from ticket sales this year will benefit the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership.

The keynote speaker will be Xiuhtezcatl Martinez, youth director of Earth Guardians. Martinez is a climate activist, hip-hop artist and the voice of an environmental movement led by youth around the globe.

Photographers Rob Zeigler and Joel Caldwell will be presenting their work for San Juan Citizens Alliance, Plata Open Space Conservancy and Wyoming Untrapped, in addition to a project shot for Southeast Alaska Conservation Council by some of the Peak Design team. All the projects were facilitated by Give A Shot.

Music by friggin' Mango Bus, brews by Lagunitas, wine by Winc, tasty treats by Dandelion Chocolate.

The $25 ticket includes open bar, live music, the keynote address and the photo exhibit. El Tonayense Taco Truck will be available outside as well.

SOMArts Cultural Center is located at 934 Brannan Street in San Francisco.
