In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention (with more than 140 characters). This time we look at Julieanne Kost on Adobe's new Cloud releases, Ben Warde on the Lightroom landscape, two new Canon Explorers of Light, photos in iOS Messages, Shannon Ebner and Dropbox Pro.

  • Canon has added photographers Barbara Davidson and Terrell Lloyd to its Explorers of Light program. Davidson, a three-time Pulitzer Prize and Emmy-award winning photojournalist, is a long-time photographer at the Los Angeles Times. Lloyd is known for his experience shooting professional and college sports.
  • Glenn Fleishman explains How to Markup and Send a Photo in iOS Messages because "there's a couple of levels of depth to it -- including Markup features -- that I wager many Messages users have rarely found."
  • Pier 24 Photography will host a free lecture by artist Shannon Ebner at 7 p.m. on Oct. 25 at the California College of the Arts as part of the Larry Sultan Visiting Artist Program. Ebner considers various uses of language -- including poetry, symbols, signage and political rhetoric -- examining the limits and ambiguities of language and representation through the lens of photography.
  • Dropbox has introduced Dropbox Professional. The $199/year subscription features 1-TB of online storage, Smart Sync and Showcase.

We're running the public service notice below to remind Americans they can sign up for the American Health Care from Nov. 1 to Dec. 15 to be insured in 2018.

More to come! Meanwhile, please support our efforts...
