In a blog post today, Adobe announced an update to Photoshop CC that includes Select Subject to make selections informed by Adobe Sensei with a single click.

Meredith Stotzner previewed Select Subject two months ago in the video above and more information can be found on Adobe's Make Quick Selections page.

In the new release, you'll find the command in the Select menu and as a button in options bar of the Quick Selection tool, Magic Want options bar and Select & Mask workspace using the Quick Selection tool.

Other highlights of Photoshop v19.1 include:

  • Windows High-Density Monitor Support. Photoshop on Windows 10 Creator's Edition now offers a full range of choices for user interface scale factors from 100 percent through 400 percent. Photoshop will now automatically adjust itself based on your Windows settings.
  • Select and Mask Improvement . A new slider has been added to Select and Mask that allows you to control the amount of decontamination applied to an image.
  • SVG compatibility with Adobe XD CC. Copying and pasting multiple text styles and effects is now supported when pasting SVG from Photoshop to Adobe XD.
  • New Microsoft Dial Functionality. Now, you can change brush settings while you paint using the Microsoft Dial.

The new release also addresses 37 customer-reported issues, among them the infamous Generator issue (about which we've written).

As usual with Adobe updates, our Creative Cloud app is not yet aware of the update.
