Krogh Accepting 'The DAM Book 3.0' Pre-Orders

In his DAM Useful Newsletter, Peter Krogh announced he is now accepting pre-orders for The Dam Book 3.0, his compendium on digital asset management.
Noting that the "changes to the DAM ecosystem have been monumental in the last nine years" since the second edition of the book, Krogh noted, "this has been a larger project than I initially anticipated."
With your pre-order, you'll get the first chapter in electronic form. Chapters 2 through 8 are scheduled for release electronically later this month with the rest of the book appearing in April.

Details about the pre-order include:
- Regular price will be $34.95 but the pre-order discount is $31.46
- All pre-orders will get an advance copy of Chapter 1, at the time of purchase
- Seven of the additional 11 chapters will be delivered by March 31.

DAM Useful Newsletter: Nine years in the (re)making
Greetings DAM friends,
It is with great pleasure that I announce that The DAM Book 3.0 is available for pre-order. As many of you know, this has been a larger project than I initially anticipated. The changes to the DAM ecosystem have been monumental in the last nine years.
We did not want to start the clock on pre-orders until the end was in clear sight. We're finally there, with more than 2/3 of the book written, including the most challenging chapters.
Release Schedule
We are delivering the material in three phases for pre-orders.
At the time of ordering, you'll get Chapter 1, Visually Speaking. It presents a unifying theme: photography has become a new type of language, spoken by nearly everyone, for nearly every purpose. It's a language of image, motion, audio, data and linkage. And it has profound effects on the way we need to manage images.
Chapters 2-8 will deliver by the end of March. These chapters address the building blocks your collection -- the use of metadata, strategies for organizing, format choices, new hardware storage options and backup processes. Cloud services have become integral to each one of these.
The balance of the chapters address workflow, software options, integration of your collection and migration. These will deliver in April.
