In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Willy Ronis, Museum Leica, Camille Seaman, 1960s interior design and free macros for Lightroom.
- In Heartwarming Photos Capture the Simple Joys of Life in a Post-WWII Paris, Jessica Stewart presents a small but delightful selection of images by Willy Ronis.
- In Museum Leica, Lars Netopil documents a century of Leica products from his over 600 color images of historical exhibits from the Leica camera inventory. "I often compare our exhibits with the subjects of still-life oil paintings -- in this way a photographer quickly understands how I think," he says.
- In Award-Winning Photographer on Chasing America's Most Wicked Storms, Diana Crandall interview Camille Seaman about her new book The Big Cloud. "When you see this scale of energy, both creation and destruction in the same moment, you just have no other recourse except to be humbled," she says.
- Unfortunate Periods in Interior Design collects a few 1960s era images from the Gerry collection coupled with some snarky captions. But, you know, the other day we had a party at a 1960s-era home and the younger people were absolutely charmed with its popcorn ceilings. So there.
- Ett Venter has contributed his set of Keyboard Maestro macros for Lightroom. The macros, which he's been using for several years, speed editing in the Develop module by assigning keys to the sliders. Keyboard Maestro itself is the indispensable macOS utility in our book.
