In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at family reunification, the Carr Fire, a darkroom sink, Joe McNally and Sigma lens workshops.
- Alan Taylor presents 40 photos of The Agonizing Realities of Family Reunification at the border as the court-imposed deadline passed with hundreds still separated.
- Madison Pauly gathers the latest images by Josh Edelson of Carr Fire in California near Redding.
- Jim Kasson says Goodbye to the Darkroom Sink. Cleverly, he only had to lift his camera while four other guys moved the stainless steel sink, piece by piece.
- Joe McNally is on the road, lighting Food Trucks! LA! Samy's! That's inside a food truck in Los Angeles and for an Aug. 1 Town Hall Evening at Samy's in San Francisco ($20 for the two-hour event).
- August Sigma Lens Workshops will be held in Arizona, California and New York. The educational events will be led by Sigma's Jared Ivy, Marc Farb and Mike Hill, covering various photography scenarios including sports, portrait, editorial and more.
