DNP notes the sudden passing of popular sales and marketing executive Rich McNinch at the age of 54.

Before joining DNP, McNinch worked at Kodak Professional and then at Sony, where he won the Samurai Award for sales and marketing professionalism and achievement.

The company has released a brief statement which said, in part, "He was trustworthy, reliable, loyal. He was optimistic, funny, happy and caring. He loved his family and friends. He gave when he did not have a lot and helped when he did not have to do so."

A memorial service will be held Saturday in Kingston, Mich.

The full text of the statement follows:

It is our sad duty to inform you that Rich McNinch, our Senior Account Manager for DNP Imagingcomm America Corp. has passed away suddenly.

Rich was a well-known figure in the printing industry. He started his career in production at a silver halide lab and moved on to work for Kodak Professional. Rich then joined Sony, where he won the prestigious Samurai Award, Sony's Top Award for Sales and Marketing professionalism and achievement. In 2011, Rich came to DNP, where he continued his unparalleled achievement and leadership. He was a integral contributor and influential from North Carolina to Tokyo. He was a key component of the sales and marketing effort at every company he worked for and from a business perspective, he is irreplaceable and will be sorely missed.

Rich touched many people in his professional life and carried himself with those rare traits that define most good men. He was trustworthy, reliable, loyal. He was optimistic, funny, happy and caring. He loved his family and friends. He gave when he did not have a lot and helped when he did not have to do so. Rich was an invaluable friend and a fierce competitor.

There is a memorial service in Rich's honor at the Kingston United Methodist Church in Kingston, Mich., at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8.
