In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at our frozen world, Ruairidh McGlynn, the British Photography Awards, fixing a closed eye and marketing.
- Alan Taylor presents 30 images in Scenes From a Frozen World. Put on a sweater first.
- In Ruairidh McGlynn Photographs the Scottish Wild in Emerging Land, Rosie Flanagan interviews the photographer about his series Emerging Land. "I'm often drawn to sparsely populated areas where the juxtaposition of humanity set within a remote landscape can be quite dominant," he says.
- More than 3,700 photographers submitted work for the British Photography Awards 2018. The BBC has published the winners.
- In Photoshop Quick Retouch for a 'Closed Eye', Scott Kelby steps through a time-honored trick (which means we've used it) to getting two open eyes from one.
- Kirk Tuck has some intriguing thoughts on Marketing, especially what not to do. Which is still fairly commonly done.
