In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at LensCulture's street photography awards, Lee Fields & the Expressions, Michael Wolf, Cindy Sherman, three LGBTQ+ photographers and Mike Johnston.
- LensCulture has announced the six winners, 25 finalists, and eight juror's picks of its Street Photography Awards.
- Jacob Blickenstaff is On the Road With Lee Fields & the Expressions.
- In Michael Wolf's Homegoing Comes After Sunrise, Miss Rosen presents a few of the photographer's last images collected in Cheung Chau Sunrises. "Liberated from the scourge of mass consumption and climate change, Wolf restores to the sky a purity of hope, possibility and innocence."
- Sean O'Hagan interviews Cindy Sherman at length just before her retrospective opens at the National Portrait Gallery.
- In Celebrating Pride Month With Three LGBTQ+ Photographers, Lex van den Berghe introduces Una Zhu, Amos Mac and Myles Loftin.
- In (Live Update--Saturday), Mike Johnston briefly reports on the success of his eye surgery. "I'm looking forward to writing my next "lens review" -- of perhaps the most important lens I've ever acquired, my intraocular implant or IOL!" Meanwhile, he's automated the posting of some older gems worth a peek.
