21 June 2019

Phase One has refreshed its Cultural Heritage program with the release of Capture One CH 12.1 for Windows and the announcement of the iXG 150-Mp Camera System, based on the Phase One Infinity Platform and with Back Side Illuminated sensor technology.

CAPTURE ONE CH 12.1

The updated Capture One CH 12.1 is now a fully-supported Windows version.

Highlights of the Windows release include:

  • Negative film reproduction tools and styles
  • Advanced auto-cropping with automatic straightening/rotation and alignment
  • Capture resolution ruler
  • Slipstream capture mode for non-trained operators
  • CH workspaces and styles
  • ICC profiles for Cultural Heritage
  • Creative enhancements
  • Camera focus with AutoColumn and PPI-Assist (full implementation in Capture One CH for Windows expected end of 2019)

"The Auto Crop feature saves hours and hours of our time and ultimately produces outputs which are straightened and cropped tighter often much more precisely than I can do by eye" said Andrew Bruce, photographer at the Postal Museum in London. "Some of our projects run for weeks or months and we need to capture at a consistent sampling frequency despite changing setups, the Capture Resolution Ruler tool helps us to achieve this fast and accurately again and again."

IXG 150-MP

Phase One also announced the iXG 150-Mp Camera System, based on the Phase One Infinity Platform and with Back Side Illuminated sensor technology. The high-volume capabilities of the iXG Camera System are stepped up with a 151-Mp CMOS sensor, allowing for instant captures of up to the A0@300PPi benchmark.

The accurate iXG focusing mechanism and precise optics have led to automation advancements with regards to distance measuring, focusing and positioning for a capture at a desired resolution on Phase One AutoColumn copy stands.

The new iXG 150-Mp Camera System adopts the Phase One Infinity Platform technology and BSI sensor, but also comes with Ethernet and USB-C connectivity, as well as improved image quality and performance.

PRICE, AVAILABILITY

Phase One said the iXG 150-Mp Camera System is expected to ship in Q1 2020. Pricing will be determined in Q4 2019.
