Well, folks, when you have a clown playing president (was he really elected?) you get a circus on the Fourth. Toy soldiers, tank models, fly-overs, the whole silly shebang. Two scoops of ice cream to boot. Oh boy.
Meanwhile, Rome burns. And our commander in chief can't even play a musical instrument.
But today is a day to celebrate freedom from tyrants, not subjection to them.
So imagine, if you will, a day (coming soon to a polling place near you) when all the wrongs are put right.
The census will be free from bias. The emoluments clause will be upheld. The children in cages at the border will be released into their parents' arms. Dictators will not be fawned over. Allies will once again be embraced. Climate change will be confronted. The wealthy will not inherit the earth.
That's the nation we celebrate today. Our nation. One nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
