In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Photolucida, video production, the Sony a7R IV, Montserrat, social platforms for photography and Jim Dunne.
- Jonathan Blaustein has published the fourth part of The Best Work I Saw at Photolucida. He highlights the work of Sunjoo Lee, Jody Ake, Quinn Russelll Brown, Lori Pond, Sage Brown and Soraya Zaman.
- Kirk Tuck details his Fujifilm Style Video Production but the moral of the story is his use of wired mics.
- Jim Kasson has published his tests of the Sony a7R IV EDR and Dark-Field Spectra based on a set uncompressed dark frames he has received. It's an interesting look at how sensor sensibility is adjusted through the range, especially compared to Sony's competitors.
- Laurence Norah provides a Complete Guide to Visiting Montserrat, Spain. It scans a lot better in Reader mode where the photos really stand out. And, yes, it's complete, listing every way to get from Barcelona to Montserrat except swim. And whether pets are permitted in the Basilica (that's a no-no).
- Lisa Michelle Burns catalogs The Six Best Social Platforms for Photographers -- except she expanded it to eight.
- We note the passing of car spy photographer Jim Dunne, eulogized by his colleague Michelle Krebs in Remembering Car Spy Photographer Jim Dunne and Raphael Orlove's Jim Dunne, the Godfather of Car Spy Photography, Dies at 87.
