A pop-up announcement on the Your Shot page at National Geographic advises that the platform will be discontinued on Oct. 31. "All engagement, assignments and promotion of photos" will subsequently occur on National Geographic's Instagram Your Shot feed.

The Your Shot platform provides the chance to share your work, receive expert feedback and be featured on the platform. The move will "enable a robust continued conversation about photos and visual storytelling before and among a large and engaged audience" of over two million, the company explained.

According to the announcement, the company will provide an option to download existing Your Shot images on the current platform "in the coming weeks."

As of Oct. 31, the current Your Shot platform will be discontinued and all engagement, assignments and promotion of photos from our community will occur on National Geographic's Instagram Your Shot feed. As a reminder, any images you have shared on the platform are subject to the Terms of Use and may be used by National Geographic in the continued promotion of Your Shot. Please refer to our Terms of Use sharing and use for more information on this.
