Boris FX Acquires Digital Film Tools

Dear Digital Film Tools Customer,

We have some exciting news to share. Boris FX, the leader in integrated VFX and workflow solutions for video and film, has acquired Digital Film Tools. When we started our company 19 years ago, our love of photography, video editing and visual effects led us to develop software that we would actually use ourselves. Since then, our humble products have grown beyond our wildest imaginations and we sincerely thank you for your support.

This acquisition is a natural next step to our growth strategy and singular focus on delivering the most powerful VFX tools and plug-ins to the content creation market. We feel Digital Film Tools products highly complement Sapphire and Continuum's core strength in stunning organic looks and effect tools. Sharing technology and tools across all Boris FX products will make Digital Film Tools even stronger as the leader in these core tasks.

Digital Film Tools co-founders, Marco Paolini, Paul Miller and Peter Moyer, will continue in their current leadership roles and partner with the Sapphire and Continuum product development teams to collaborate on delivering next-generation tools. By joining forces with Boris FX, we are not only dramatically expanding our team's capabilities, but we are also joining a group of like-minded film industry pros to provide the best solutions and support for our customers. Working together under the Boris FX umbrella is our next logical step and we are excited to add new features and continue advancing Digital Film Tools products for our user base.

Digital Film Tools will continue to be developed and sold under the Boris FX brand and will adopt the Boris FX commitment to agile development with yearly releases, annual support and subscription options.

The merger marks the third Boris FX acquisition in recent years following Imagineer Systems (2014) and GenArts (2016) and builds upon the most powerful creative editing, visual effects and motion graphics solutions currently available to the film and television post-production industry. Digital Film Tools joins Boris FX's award-winning flagships Sapphire, Continuum and Mocha Pro.
