In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at National Geographic's best photos, new cameras, a full-frame dSLR on sale, food photography tricks, 22 free photography titles and alternatives to hanging (your photos).
- National Geographic presents The Best Photos of 2019 from the 106 photographers, 121 stories and over two million images the publication has published this year.
- Thom Hogan has published Quick Takes on New Cameras he hasn't quite finished testing. They include the Canon RP, Canon M6 Mark II, Nikon Z 50, Pansonic S1 and Sony A7R IV. And for a bonus, he has an interesting discussion about focusing in Are You Tracking Tracking Correctly?
- In A Wildly Affordable Full Frame Camera, Derrick Story points out the Nikon D610 with a 50mm lens is going for $897. With a battery grip, wireless mobile adapter, San Disk 64-GB card and a camera case. Plus Skylum Luminar 4. We mentioned that in our Cyber Monday listing earlier today, BTW.
- Nick Bumgardner offers a few Food Photography Tricks. Not too many to digest, either.
- The Getty Publications Virtual Library has over 300 titles available for free. There are 22 titles related to photography.
- In Alternatives for Hanging Your Photos, you'll find a variety of interesting suggestions.
More to come! Meanwhile, please support our efforts...
