10 December 2019

Forty-four and eight. Two important numbers around here. Today we're celebrating our 44th anniversary with Joyce, which also happens to be the eighth anniversary of the launch of Photo Corners.

Wild Rose. Olympus E-PL1 with 14-42mm kit lens and Lensbaby +10 close-up lens at 55mm and f4.8, 1/30 second and ISO 400. Processed in Adobe Camera Raw.

We didn't plan it that way. The stars just align for us on Dec. 10, apparently.

And now look. There are two new generations who think of Joyce-and-Mike as one word. Inseparable.

And (not that we're counting but) 5,765 stories on this site that might never have been.

Seven years ago when we took this leap of faith, we were encouraged by a radio broadcast of Susie Arioli singing When You Wish Upon a Star as we sat in the living room looking at the crescent moon shining over the Pacific Ocean.

We like to celebrate that special moment every year by finding another Arioli tune to share and this year it's Un Jour de Difference, her rendition of What a Difference a Day Makes. The salient lines (in English) for both our anniversaries are the last two:

What a difference a day made --
And the difference is you.

You know who we're talking about.
