In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at female street photography, the Filter Photo Festival, Rodrigo Prieto, David Brandon Greeting, Robert Koch and Capture One tethering issue.

  • Sarah Gilbert showcases a few image from an exhibit of Female Street Photography shot by 94 women from around the world.
  • Jonathan Blaustein continues his review of The Best Work I Saw at the Filter Photo Festival with the third installment. This one includes Christopher Barrett, Colleen Woolpert, Mitch Eckert, Ruth Adams, Anastasia Davis and James Kuan.
  • Oscar-nominated director of photography Rodrigo Prieto describes evoking our memories of times past by emulating period photography (and more):
  • In An Accidental Thesis on Waste and Pollution, Marigold Warner presents images from David Brandon Greeting's Neighbourhood Stroll depicting junk and debris. Which are the urban photographer's conundrum. "The world is always more interesting and more surprising than anything you can dream up," Geeting says.
  • Robert Koch writes about Making It Black and White with a nice selection of his evocative landscapes.
  • Capture One has issued a support bulletin Regarding Tethering and Mac OS 10.15.2 (Catalina). The issue is that it doesn't work. "There is currently no workaround for this issue and the only solution we can provide is that you re-install Mac OS to a previous version," the bulletin advises. Meanwhile, the company is working on a fix and will update the bulletin when it is available.

More to come! Meanwhile, please support our efforts...
