When we came across this New Yorker documentary earlier this week, we made a note to mention it today. It's a sweet story. But the charm of A Couple's Final Words to Each Other Accidentally Recorded is not just the story.
We are repeatedly slammed with advice about the importance of story telling these days. But, you know, story telling isn't the whole story.
If it were, more people would believe whatever they read on Twitter.
No, there's something else. You can hear it in these two recorded voices. It's an affection for each other, an acceptance of another's illness, a kindness, a caring. They're miles apart but they sound like they're holding hands.
It's a tone in short, the soothing sound of abiding love that we celebrate today.
