In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at an iceberg, two 20mm lenses, tutorials, the Nikon D780 and a Krogh discount.

  • In Fun With One Iceberg Image -- Many Looks, Kevin Raber throws his software toolbox at a single image of an iceberg not to optimize the image but to morph it into wildly divergent variations. "Isn't it fun to just stop and play sometimes?" he asks. Oh, yes it is.
  • In 20mm f1.8 Nikkor S Initial Testing, Jim Kasson lines up the Sony 20mm f1.8 G E-mount lens next to the Nikon 20mm f1.8 S Z-mount prime. (NB: The site is loading the images a little slowly this morning.)
  • In Your Tutorial Resource Guide to Photography & Editing, Lex van den Berghe organizes the extensive list by how much time they take. Very helpful.
  • Joe Farace reviews the Nikon D780, which he writes has "the best body design since Nikon's landmark F2."
  • Peter Krogh, who has written extensively about digitizing and organizing photos, is offering a 50 percent discount on all his books. "No discount code needed," he writes.

More to come! Meanwhile, please support our efforts...
