Serif to Offer 100 Commission in 100 Days Share This on LinkedIn   Tweet This   Forward This

3 April 2020

Serif, the company behind the Affinity suite of graphic applications, has announced a new initiation to award 100 commissions in 100 days to creatives using its applications. Those include Affinity Photo, Affinity Designer and Affinity Publisher, all of which can be downloaded for a 90-day free trial and purchased at a 50 percent discount.

"After hearing so many stories from freelancers about commissions being cancelled and the uncertainty surrounding future work due to current events, we wanted to do something to help out in these unpredictable times," the Affinity Team wrote in an email.

Submissions must observe a few guidelines:

  • You must use an Affinity application
  • Only one entry per person
  • Proposals are fine but finished work will be required

The company intends to license your work for its marketing, educational resources or in-app examples. It will pay $1,500.

"We think it's worth noting that the amount we usually pay for licensing varies depending on the experience and reputation of the creator, but in the current climate where everyone is affected, we don't want to make that distinction," the application page states.

Deadline for submissions is 12 noon BST on Monday, April 20.

For more information see the text of the email below and visit the Affinity Commission page.

100 Days. 100 Commissions.

Dear Mike,

After hearing so many stories from freelancers about commissions being cancelled and the uncertainty surrounding future work due to current events, we wanted to do something to help out in these unpredictable times.

So in addition to our new 90-day free trials and 50 percent discounts on Affinity apps and as part of our pledge to spend our whole creative commissioning budget in the next three months, we're launching a new initiative: 100 Days. 100 Commissions.

From today, you can submit your work to us for consideration. It can be a project you've already completed, were halfway through or even a proposal for something new -- it's up to you.

You can read all about the initiative on our Web site and learn more about what we're looking for, what you'll get out of it and how to submit.

More Info

We can't wait to see your work!

All the best,

The Affinity Team
