14 April 2020

Digital Transitions has announced a five-part series on automating Capture One using simple programming to improve your workflow, efficiency and skill set.

The first free webinar in the series begins in just minutes with the second to follow on Thursday.

Parts 1 and 2 are a high-level introduction to coding for museums, libraries and archives covering quality-control of crop size, automated metadata entry, barcode reading, automated file and folder naming and OCR.

But even if you don't work for a museum, these parts provide great primers for the rest of the series.

Unlock the Power of Capture One Through Automation & Scripting

Photographic workflows often include repetitive post processing tasks where precision and accuracy matter. In some cases there are native Capture One tools for those tasks, such as AutoCrop in Capture One CH.

But what do you do when no such tool exists? Get Coding! In this new series we'll demonstrate ways that simple programming can improve your workflow, efficiency and skill set.

Part 1 & 2 is a high-level introduction to coding in the context of museums, libraries and archives. For example quality-control of crop size, automated metadata entry, barcode reading, automated file and folder naming and OCR. Even if you work in another context (e.g. eCommerce or as a digital tech) there is a lot of crossover to this Cultural Heritage context and these parts provide great primers for the rest of the series.

Parts 3 through 5 provide step-by-step guides to Getting Started with three popular languages for Capture One users: AppleScript, Python and the Capture One SDK. These, along with a two-day in-person class are already in the works and will be announced soon, so keep an eye on our schedule. We also offer customer coding consultation, so reach out to us if you'd like one-on-one attention.
