In this recurring column, we highlight a few items we've run across that don't merit a full story of their own but are interesting enough to bring to your attention. This time we look at Nina Raasch, a LensRentals AMA, the Canon G10, Capture One 20 for Fujifilm, Raw Power 3 and baggage.
- In The Beautiful World Waiting Once This Is Over, Stephanie Wade presents the California landscapes of Berlin-based Nina Raasch from her new series Listen Through the Lens. The images are strongly shifted toward the Yellow/Green spectrum. Grab one and make a white balance shift toward Blue/Red and see the difference just for fun.
- In We Are LensRentals.com Ask Us Anything, Roger Cicala, Ryan Hill and Zach Sutton are still taking questions on Reddit. Good thing, too, because their answers are just jewel-like. As in revealing their most unexpectedly successful rental offering: sand bags.
- Kirk Tuck throw together A Mini Re-Review of a Mini Camera, namely the Canon G10 he bought last year from a friend. He shot Raw on a walk and processed the files in Luminar 4.2.
- Mike Johnston continues his dive into Fujifilm Raw conversion, buying Capture One 20 for Fujifilm. We can echo his praise for the online User Guide. Exceptionally well done.
- Derrick Story has posted a mini-review of Raw Power 3, focusing primarily on its star ratings. The new release "elevates the Photos/iCloud environment to a high level for serious photographers."
- In Baggage, Andrew Molitor muses on the preconceived notions or permanent hidden prejudices at work when we look at pictures.
